Trois-Rivières will become the capital of track racing in North America

« During the time Montreal had a velodrome it produced in a span of just 5 years more world champions than in the last 50 years.

Cycling went from an obscure sport to a mainstream event creating well over 100 professional cyclists and promoters and over a million followers.

The impact of a velodrome is as critical to cycling as an indoor swimming pool is for swimmers, with about a similar cost.

Politicians argue that it can never be self sufficient nor cost effective. As if swimming pool and such ever created any income for the structure. Of course it costs to operate a velodrome but I tell you this Trois-Rivières will not only become the capital of track racing in North America, it will surely boost the sport to the highest levels seen yet here in Canada.

It's a question of being committed towards the athletes and the spirit of what is to become our greatest pride in real amateur racing and the development of a professional cycling scene here at home, »
