Pheww! What a day at SBT GRVL ! 202km with 3200m D+
First time trying one of these big gravel events. Not sure how I feel about this one yet. Tired, that I know for sure. I tried my best! Can’t say I’m happy, can’t say I’m too disappointed either. In the end, the long mileage (and maybe altitude?) got the better of me, and I never managed to stay with the strong top women! Generally, I think I’m just not prepared specifically enough for these kind of long grind events, and it showed. My body made sure to let me know!
But there were certainly a few highlights and noteworthy moments
. I LOVED bombing down some of the gravel descents
Happy I jumped in and gave it a shot!
Gravel 1/ Maghalie 0. Let’s see if we settle the score next time!

. Last cow path « breakaway » with Devon Clarke was sick
. Spent wayyyyy too much time riding alone which was not fast and not as fun, thanks to everybody I rode with at some point or another today!
. Winning the sprint for 11th. There was a pretty big bunch of US women and I loved using my cx skills to get that one.
. I had to walk up a climb, both my legs fully seized around 140km. I had been managing cramps for a while already (and for the remaining 60km) and could totally ride with the cramps, but in that moment they came in do strong and forced me off the bike. I had to laugh.
